AliasVar Command
Overview
The “AliasVar Command” shows the aliases of the system variables and allows you to change
them. An alias is a short name you can type in the prompt window in place of the full
name of a system variable, in the same way that the “Alias Command” defines short names
for commands.
The command is started by entering “_CliCmdAliasVar” in the prompt window.
Usage
Here is an explanation of how the “AliasVar Command” is typically used:
-
Start the command. A dialog with a table of the aliases that are defined at the moment
is displayed. -
Edit the table. The first column is the name of the system variable and the remaining
columns are the aliases for it. Up to five aliases can be given to one variable. A row
whose alias columns are all empty is dropped when the table is saved. -
Save the table. The aliases are written to the “AliasVar” system variable and the
message “The aliases are saved.” is printed in the prompt window.
See “System Variables” for the list of the variables the aliases can be given to, and the
“Var Command” and the “SetVar Command” for how the variables are displayed and changed.
