Plan View Command
Overview
The “Plan View” refers to a two-dimensional representation of a design or model as seen from above, typically showing the horizontal or top-down view of the project. By selecting the “Plan View,” users can visualize the design layout, floor plans in a clear and comprehensive manner.
When using the “Plan View” command, users may be prompted to select a specific level or floor within a multi-story project or choose the desired viewpoint from which the plan view will be generated. The command then displays the plan view as a separate viewport or window within the application.
Plan views are essential for architectural, engineering, and construction projects as they provide an overview of the horizontal relationships, spatial organization, and layout of the design elements. They help in analyzing and understanding the floor plan, evaluating the circulation patterns, determining space allocations, and verifying design specifications.
The “Plan View” command facilitates effective communication, documentation, and analysis of the project by providing a clear and concise representation of the design’s horizontal aspects. It enables users to create, navigate, and work with plan views to support the various stages of the design process.
